Earnings Season Champions
This week brought two major earnings reports—Berkshire Hathaway and Nvidia—each significant for different reasons.
Berkshire matters because 1) everyone wants to hear what the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett, has to say about investing and the markets, and 2) sadly, we don’t know how much longer we’ll have his wisdom brought to us live, in-person, at the Woodstock of Capitalism; we hope for many more years. By the way, we have a full mental model on Warren Buffett listing his greatest hits (this is free).
Nvidia, on the other hand, is crucial because 1) it’s one of the most important companies in the world, powering AI, globally, with its GPUs, and 2) it has become a bellwether for the broader economy.
Both companies posted strong earnings, leading to the inevitable question: Are they still investable? While we don’t offer investment advice, we do have The Buycaster—updated daily—to help answer that. Here's what it says:
To achieve an 80% return over five years (12.5% annualized, or 10% post-tax), The Buycaster focuses on two key questions:
- What level of revenue growth is needed?
- Is that growth realistic?
For Berkshire and Nvidia, with fresh earnings in, here’s how the first part of the analysis looks:
Of course, The Buycaster goes even deeper, delivering a clear investability score.
Whatever your outlook on these (or 7,000 other) companies, we encourage you to do a quick numerical sanity check. It takes less than five minutes to scan the Buycaster dashboard and make a rational decision.
Stay sane, stay healthy, and have a great weekend!
