What is the 2Xability of your portfolio?
We’ve made things simpler. The Buycaster now has one easy-to-remember mission: How rational is it to expect [insert your stock] to double (2X) in five years?
Naturally, we’ve renamed our Investability Score to the “2Xability” Score. Why? Because if a single-stock bet doesn’t have a clear path to 2X in five years—100% cumulative return, 15% annualized, 12% post-tax, however you slice it—why bother?
Let’s test drive a stock in the news—Tesla—and see what The Buycaster says about its 2Xability in four simple charts. You’ll find explanations in The Buycaster (should you choose to subscribe) but honestly, the visuals speak for themselves.
Side note: this analysis doesn’t factor in any fallout from Elon’s latest antics, which we suspect would drag Tesla’s 2Xability down even further.
We used to aim for 10% annualized after-tax returns, which meant 12.5% gross annualized or about 80% cumulative in five years. But we changed it up for two reasons: (1) 80% is a weird, hard-to-explain number, and “gross vs. net” makes people glaze over. 100% is simple, memorable, and snappy. (2) "2Xability" just sounds better than "Investability," which, as prospective clients pointed out, felt a bit… wishy-washy.
We hope our members find 2Xability clear, direct, and actually useful. You can subscribe and get The Buycaster and see you favorite stock has got the 2X factor! We cover 7,000 stocks, so you should be able to find what you're looking for.
